Milk thistle is a herbaceous plant that grows in the Mediterranean basin on uncultivated and arid soils, containing flavolignans (derivatives of flavonoids) including silymarin, and has antioxidant properties. It supports digestive and liver function and promotes the body's detoxifying functions. NAC, on the other hand, boasts antioxidant and cytoprotective properties due to its ability to act as a precursor of glutathione (an antioxidant naturally produced by our body) and to protect the beta cells of the pancreas.

Finally, the product is enriched with alpha-lipoic acid, a sulfur-containing compound that acts as a cofactor for numerous enzymes involved in metabolic processes related to energy production, mainly in the mitochondrion. Alpha-lipoic acid helps counteract oxidative stress, indirectly preserving and enhancing the activity of other antioxidants, as it participates in the regeneration of reduced glutathione (GSH) and vitamins C and E.
